The Museum’s outstanding art in the Permanent Collection is rotated periodically in the galleries; this gives visitors the opportunity to view much of our holdings. These include masterworks by Robert Lougheed, E. Irving Couse, Oscar Berninghaus, and masterworks from the Cowboy Artists of America, including William Moyers, Frank Hampton, Gordon Snidow, Bill Nebeker, and many more.
The Children’s Gallery: Journey West
In 2005, proceeds from the Hill Country Charity Ball Association, Inc., allowed the Museum to create and install The Journey West exhibition in the Children’s Gallery. This interactive exhibit follows a family heading West through the eyes of the daughter of the family and the diary she keeps.
Throughout the year the Museum has educational and historical exhibitions exploring regional events and people. Some of these have included masterworks from the Forsyth Galleries, Texas A&M University, a collection of Kerr County artifacts from the collection of Joe Herring, Jr., and paintings from the collection of Wells Fargo Bank.
Explore our calendar to learn about our current and upcoming exhibitions.
