Art in the Public Schools
The Museum of Western Art is offering teachers in the regional schools a
program that will introduce students to professional artists and their
careers. With a month’s notice artists will be contacted and scheduled to
visit individual classrooms and present the students with an overview of
their careers and instruct them in a short exercise. The Museum Staff
will also be visiting classrooms to speak about Western art and give age
appropriate talks to students on various museum related topics. Assembly
programs may also be requested.
Outreach Programs
Children respond to the visual arts. Because of this, art appreciation classes
classes may be arranged at various organization sites in the Hill Country.
The outreach program is designed to encourage children to develop their
artistic skills while experiencing difficult situations.
